Cambodian Street Food & Show
Wednesday 13th May
  • Optional group transport from Prince Angkor hotel to Venue: 6pm
  • Seating opens: 7.30pm
  • Show: 8pm-9pm
  • Optional group transport from Venue to Prince Angkor hotel: 9.15pm
Prepare for an evening of rich cultural experience at Phare, The Cambodian Circus! Young artists from the Phare Ponleu Selpak non-profit school perform a vibrant blend of acrobatics, dance and live music, weaving together folklore, history and contemporary themes to tell a uniquely Cambodian story. There are no animals in this circus, just humans. Before the show, enjoy Cambodian street food - from skewers to noodles and spring rolls, dishes start as low as US $1.

Tickets for the show start from US $18 for adults and US $10 for children. You may add these to your booking as well as transportation if you wish. The CPAC bus departs Prince Angkor hotel at 6pm and returns to the hotel at 9.15pm. The drive is approximately 10 mins. If you are making your own way to/from the venue, keep in mind that seating for the show opens at 7.30pm. If you choose Section B or C tickets without reserved seats (see seat map above), please note that seating is on a first come first served basis so be sure to arrive early. Entry once the show has started is not permitted.

The scheduled production of SOKHA tells the living, breathing story of Phare and the remarkable people behind it. This artistic interpretation shares the real experiences of those who lived through the Khmer Rouge and found healing and hope through art, creating beauty from suffering. While the show touches on difficult chapters of recent history, it is ultimately an uplifting and inspiring tale that celebrates the strength, resilience, and warmth of the Cambodian spirit. SOKHA offers a truly heartfelt experience that is as meaningful as it is entertaining for adults and children alike. Watch the trailer here.

The performance may contain smoke, loud noises, and strobe lights. If you have any concerns for yourself or young children, please let us know. For more information about the Phare experience, click here.

DIY Activities

Siem Reap is the cultural heart of Cambodia and you will not be lacking places to explore and things to do here. These are just a few ideas from a very long list. Book guided tours or discover Siem Reap independently - holiday your own way! And something that you could try to fit in at some point everyday are the local massages that cost approximately KHR 40,000 (US$ 10) for a 1 hr full body massage of pure bliss.

1. Angkor Wat
Angkor Archaeological Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over a thousand temples, including the magnificent Angkor Wat. Crowned as the 8th wonder of the world, you can't go to Siem Reap and not visit this historical monument! Furthermore, the Angkor temple complex is just 15 mins drive from the CPAC hotel. Tours start as early 4:30am to catch the sunrise as well as avoid the crowds and late morning heat. Do dress appropriately for temple visits.

2. APOPO Visitor Centre
Cambodia is greatly affected by landmines, and APOPO trains African giant pouched rats to be HeroRATs. These super smart and cute heroes detect landmines and unexploded ordnance in the country and beyond, playing a vital role in clearing these dangers. Conveniently located midway between the CPAC hotel and Angkor Wat, stop at the APOPO Visitor Centre to see the rats in action and learn how they are trained for this crucial work.

3. Angkor National Museum
Located a 15 mins walk from the CPAC hotel, the Angkor National Museum presents the history of the Khmer civilisation. With the aid of multimedia technology, collections in their eight galleries help visitors understand the customs, traditions and beliefs of the ancient Khmer empire. Many of the artefacts were discovered in and around the Angkor archaeological sites. This museum perfectly complements visits to the Angkor temples.

4. Made in Cambodia Market
Right outside the CPAC hotel is the Made in Cambodia Market on Oum Kuhn Street, where you can find authentic, locally made handicrafts and souvenirs. From artwork to clothing and jewellery, the market showcases Cambodia’s creative craftsmanship. You can also meet the artisans and hear their fascinating stories. Everything is priced to ensure a fair deal for everyone, no haggling necessary!

5. Cambodia Landmine Museum
Founded by ex-child soldier Aki Ra, this museum is under 1 hr away and offers a powerful education about Cambodia's history of conflict and the horrors landmines still inflict today. Proceeds go towards the ongoing demining work.

6. Phnom Kulen National Park
For a nature break from the city, head up north for about 1 hr to Phnom Kulen National Park. Wear good walking shoes as you navigate the jungle trails to visit Kbal Spean, Preah Ang Thom, the ACCB, spectacular waterfalls and more.

7. Beng Mealea
Just over 1 hr east of the city is a temple partially swallowed by nature. Exploring these unrestored, jungle-covered ruins evokes the thrill of discovering a lost temple, creating a mysterious atmosphere and an "Indiana Jones experience".

8. Floating Villages
Tonlé Sap Lake, home to several floating villages, is approximately 1 hr south from central Siem Reap. These villages offer a unique glimpse into the communities who live on the lake, with houses built on stilts or floating platforms.
