CPAC STORY
Officially known as the Ceroc Pan Asia Dance Championships, and fondly known as CPAC for short, the CPAC philosophy is that the event should be a meeting point and melting pot for dancers from across the world, where different techniques and styles of Ceroc and modern jive are represented and explored. We favour a non-intimidating, friendly atmosphere where dancers can mingle, dance and learn. As a result, CPAC bears the hashtag #internationaldancefamily.
The event, run by Ceroc Asia, was established in 2007 in order to spread the love of Ceroc dancing across the Asia Pacific region. In 2014 the first Ceroc Pan Asia Champs was held in Hong Kong attended by Ceroc Hong Kong, Ceroc Singapore and Ceroc dancers from Japan. The event has since expanded and been held across many exciting Asian destinations including in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia & Vietnam.
Since it started 11 years ago with a single night event, CPAC has now become a 5 night event followed by a 4 night tropical Dive & Jive beach holiday, where you can relax by day (and dive if you wish) and dance by night.
After the hiatus of covid, CPAC returned with a bang in May 2024 - back to Bangkok followed by the Dive & Jive beach holiday in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. 2025 took us all to the dream location of Bali. Happily, we are now back to rolling out this exciting annual event each May!
WHAT MAKES CPAC UNIQUE?
- CPAC is held across different Asian destinations, bringing dancers from North and South together.
- CPAC plays songs from Asia alongside other international hits, broadening the range of musical styles you can enjoy while dancing.
- The CPAC competition kicks off with Asian Connexion on the Friday night. This category is where a dancer competes in freestyle heats with a dancer from a different region, enabling participants to meet and dance with someone new. No need to find a partner as your Asian Connexion partner will be assigned to you ‘lucky-dip style’ in an online live draw before the event. Just be sure to register early if you would like to take part as competitors are entered on a first come first served basis into the category. Asian Connexion is included in every Dancer Pass as a complimentary category so everyone can dip their toes in the competitive waters.
- We award a 'Spirit of CPAC’ medal each year to a dancer, who we feel have best represented what CPAC stands for by demonstrating inclusivity, warmth, friendship and authenticity.
- Each year a Dive & Jive beach holiday is added onto CPAC for a relaxing time. And, you don't need to be a diver or a dancer to join! Everyone is welcome to come and take in some sand, sea, food and fun as we all relax and chill out after the main event. Choose to come for as long as you like, our dates are suggested dates only.
